Makeover and Construction

*gasp* She finally speaks!
Apologies for the long-overdue/needed update. I just didn't want to post any news because I didn't have the new layout up. This freaking layout has taken me over a month and a half to get it as close to perfect as possible (in my standards). I made the top graphic in December. December. I've cleaned up a bunch of my source-coding, though. With enormous help from Souly, seriously, couldn't have done this without her inputs. If it hadn't been for her to rescue the original state of this layout, I think I would have just chucked version 03 all the way down to Tartarus. Now, instead of using those tiresome DIV's, it's all preset in the CSS. Aah...In fact, at one point, the bane of this layout for me was the footer. It was all over the place: the middle of the page, the top of the page, aaall the way over on the right. Thank God (and truly!) all the major technical difficulties are over. *whew* However, now I have another problem. Sorry to all those Mozilla Firefox users out there (including me), you probably never got to this page. Ever since I changed the layout, plain ol' "nicole.fractured-sanity.org" doesn't work in Firefox. You have to type in "/index.php" (at the end) to get to the home page. Weird, isn't it? I've started a thread in the Firefox support forum, so hopefully someone knows what's going on. Hmm...
Moving on to the more sitely, there's not much to add from last month's full update. Except, I've added the .abr file for the Water Boxy brush set. Also, there's (3) new textures, all from a kind of 'Geometric' theme. They look quite different next to all the 'decorative' textures before them. Sorry I haven't been too active in the resources side. Also, although it's been a while, Nadia is my new affiliate. That's two now! All right then. I need to go fix some odd pages, and I'm thinking of categorizing my updates. Or should I not? You tell me, since it's the public who's reading these.

9 January, 2008 Wednesday Update

The Return from Floating

Sorry about keeping mum for the past few weeks. I simply didn't have anything to update about/didn't have time/or was too lazy. Anyway, now that I have a decent buildup of news that's fit for a complete update, here we go:
- (1) new colorization of Liv Tyler
- (1) new [my first!] brush set, 'Water Boxy'
- (1) irregular pattern [my first!]
- (2) new link back buttons
- (1) poem, that for some reason, I forgot to update about last time. Title: 'Tears'
- the addition of a page called School Projects (located in my portfolio) consisting of projects I've done for school (surprise surprise)
- a tutorial on PHP, which I also forgot to update about a long time ago
I'd forgotten a lot of things I did, and then not updated about it. Hmm...Anyway, so that's bringing you up to speed on all the new additions. As for the new brush set, I'm sorry I haven't put up the .abr file download for PS users yet. I made it last night and I simply didn't have time to make a new set. Also, I need to learn how to zip files. Hoo...So I'll get cracking on that ASAP. Now, I have news on the new layout, but it's been pissing me off for the last 3 weeks (which is also why I was quiet). I'm really happy with the main graphic, but the coding and formatting had been driving me crazy, so I'm trying a different kind of body. And that's about all. Ok then, take care for the moment!

*6 MINUTES LATER*I just went on to Imagination and I realized that on both of our site pages, we used the expression "[This site] was born on [date]." Isn't that weird?? I never knew.

17 December, 2007 Monday Update

Newsies

First off, the most celebrated news: Souly is now my gracious host! Of course, I knew beforehand, which was why I chose her in the first place. And now for the sitely:
- (2) new art pieces, both are categorized under "Abstract": 'Ibis Rain' and 'Wintry Memoirs'
- (1) new colorization of Liv Tyler
- (3) icon textures
- and the addition of the Lightbox script for image viewing
I came upon the idea of 'Ibis Rain' after reading "The Scarlet Ibis" (James Hurst) with my English class. I did not particularly enjoy the story, because it was quite gruesome. But I thought the symbolism of the scarlet ibis ws quite remarkable and I had never heard of those vibrant birds before. The piece veered off the course I had originally designated it for, due to the fact that I could not find the perfect rainy day picture of a woman walking in the street. Argh. But the finished product is satisfactory. As for the 'Wintry Memoirs', that is also currently used as the layout at Kikki's DreamBox. But it set things up for winter and such. The Liv colorization is now one of my favorites, but I noticed small glitches long after I had already 'published' it. Ah, well. Again, I'm floating in a daze of happiness because of the new subdomain. So, so happy. Anyway, coming back down to Earth, I'm working on a new layout (already??) because as much as I like this one, it's a little too big, top-banner wise if you get what I mean. All right. That's enough for today. More coming soon!

24 November, 2007 Saturday::Short Notice

Starting with the good news:
- (4) more LotR-related icons
- (1) link back button
- New section on the about site page concerning past layouts.
Now for the slightly unpleasant. I will be a bit quiet graphics-wise for the next couple...I've lost access to my lovely old Photoshop and won't be able to create any new art. I'll be able to really power myself into more extensive coding for the current layout, though. And I shall do exactly that. Hoping for the best!

P.S. Please visit Krystel's website! Looking lovely.
